Liquidfloors Builds New Headquarters with Hexagon
At the end of last year, real estate developer Hexagon from Roeselare and resin flooring specialist Liquidfloors acquired the former Sobelcard-Bekaert site on Bekaertstraat in Zwevegem.
Sobelcard, part of the Bekaert Group, relocated a large portion of its production, leaving the site vacant. Given its strategic location, it quickly became clear that this industrial area deserved a new and ambitious purpose.
Liquidfloors was already based on Bekaertstraat, and when the site became available, they found the ideal redevelopment partner in Hexagon. The Zwevegem-based flooring specialist plans to build its new headquarters here, complete with an experience center. Surrounding the new HQ, the 'APART' business park will be developed, offering space to around 25 ambitious local SMEs.
The Flemish Government granted preliminary approval for the brownfield covenant design. Such an agreement encourages developers to transform challenging sites, so-called brownfields, into new, inspiring places for living and working. This redevelopment will inject new economic life into the area, create jobs, and strengthen social cohesion.
The partners are fully ready to take on this challenge. Redeveloping such sites is Hexagon's specialty and aligns perfectly with its philosophy of sustainable and socially responsible building and entrepreneurship.
