The Story Behind
Park Apart
A Vision for Redevelopment by Liquidfloors & Hexagon
Over the past years, Liquidfloors has experienced strong and steady growth, so strong that we outgrew our headquarters more than once. That growth ultimately led us to a bold new chapter in Zwevegem: Park Apart, a redevelopment of the former Sobelcard site. Together with property developer Hexagon, we created a place where entrepreneurship, architecture, sustainability and experience come together.
From Growth to Vision
Since 2009, Liquidfloors has been producing and installing premium cast floors for residential and commercial projects. Over the years, our projects became larger, more complex and more ambitious. As a result, our need for space, experience and collaboration evolved as well.
In 2015, we found the ideal location on the former Bekaert site, a place where all our ambitions could converge. The only catch? The site was too large to take on alone. What followed was not a traditional real estate story, but the beginning of a partnership.
A Collaboration That Makes a Difference
For Park Apart we joined forces with Hexagon, a developer specialising in the transformation of industrial and commercial land. From the very first meeting, the vision aligned. Not just in the plans on paper, but in the principles behind them:
- Sustainable development without encroaching on greenfield land
- Architecture with personality and identity
- Space for biodiversity and landscape design
- A site designed to attract and support entrepreneurs
Park Apart was never meant to be a standard business park. It was envisioned as a place with soul.
House of Textures: a new chapter
Park Apart is now home to our new headquarters and experience centre: House of Textures. A space where materials and finishes can be experienced in the right context, and where architects, designers and craftsmen come together.
Entrepreneurship as a Conscious Choice
What makes this project stand out is the municipality’s clear commitment to supporting entrepreneurship. Park Apart is not a random infill project, but a thoughtful redevelopment designed to make space for craftsmanship and emerging businesses.
Alongside Liquidfloors, other creative and entrepreneurial ventures have found their place here, creating a dynamic synergy that brings the site to life and reflects its founding vision: a place where people enjoy working, creating and growing.
The Story Continues
Park Apart demonstrates what’s possible when ambition, collaboration and thoughtful redevelopment come together in one strong narrative. It is a place where entrepreneurship is encouraged, architecture speaks, and materials take centre stage.
The story was also featured in Voka Ondernemers, highlighting the collaboration between Liquidfloors and Hexagon.
